Staffing
We actively search for staff that brings unique qualities to our center.
Each member of our staff has either a University degree and/or an Early
Childhood Education. In addition, each staff member has training in
the education of children with special needs and each staff takes additional
training during the school year.
We have been fortunate not to have a high turnover of staff. Most
of our administration, teachers, and assistants have been with the Preschool
for more than three years, compared to and average stay of 18 months
for staff in many childcare centers.
For our enrolment of 35 children our staff consists of: Director,
Assistant Director/Resource, five full-time teachers, five full-time
program assistants, cleaner, and a cook.
Depending on enrolment, our teacher to child ratio is 1 to 3 compared
to an average ratio of 1 to 7 in most childcare centers!
