Tour: Computer & Tech Aid Center

One very important component to our program is our computer center. We currently have several MacIntosh computers as well as adaptive hardware and an extensive software collection. The computers have been a very important visual aid in teaching communication and cognitive skills to our population of children. Communication is a vital skill for any child, but it is especially important for a child who is challenged in some way. Many of our children learn best with the use of visual aide, such as a computer. Computers provide an opportunity for our children to take risks and increase their pcomputericipation for developing a means of communication and interaction. The computers help to self-confidence and communication skills in a fun-filled environment. The computers are used daily with all of our children and have become an integral port of our daily program. We strive to prepare our children for the future by giving them opportunities to grow and develop, using technology that will compliment the school system.

In this center you will also find:

  • listening center with a plethora of books, tapes and headphones
  • shoe box tasks
  • puzzles
  • wall Lego
