HACL Inclusion Supports
HACL provides person centred support to individuals and families to help ensure they are living the lives they want in their community.
- We provide information on available services and referrals to help people to live meaningful lives.
- We offer workshops and specialized training for individuals, families and service providers.
- We help people plan for the future and for transitions.
- We also assist people with intellectual disabilities in navigating systems and processes.
Transition Support Program
Our Transition Support Program offers wrap around, holistic, person centred support to people with developmental disabilities, and their families, as they experience life changes.
Through planning, advocacy, education, service navigation, resource referrals, and community partnerships, we assist people in making choices about their future and developing the tools and supports they need to reach their goals.
This program is open to anyone who feels like they could use this support. This includes people leaving the school system, entering post-secondary education, entering adult services (health, community services), moving into new housing, changing programs, joining the work force, or experiencing any other life events.
Peer Support Program
HACL is running peer support groups for people who have a developmental disability, or have a loved one with a developmental disability. There are three groups being offered including:
- Self-Advocate Support Groups
- Parent Support Groups
- Sibling Support Groups
Peer support is a great way to learn new things, connect with people who have similar experiences and build your community.
